1. An 18 year long battle the former
partners of a petroleum company in Grand Bahama are are still having their case
heard in the Supreme Court. The plaintiffs had been been granted a Case
Management Conference, which was a preliminary step that paved the way for the
case to be tried in a court of law. The plaintiffs are claiming that their
shares and company licence were improperly taken away from them. Carlton
Wildgoose, Rupert Watkins, Amos Russell and Oswald Archer, who once held shares
in Petroleum Products Ltd. which is also named as a plaintiff in the suit, are
bringing the action. The defendants are Citibank a USA Bank with a Branch in the Bahamas, Gulf Union Bank, The Grand
Bahama Port Authority, Freeport Oil Company Limited, Fabian Investments Ltd.,
Paul Major, F.I.R.M. Limited, Ianthe Limited, Maurice Glinton, Richard
Rawle-Maynard and Felix Stubbs.
