Raul Pertierra is the Revenue Service Representative (RSR) in the Large Business and International Division (LB&I) Overseas Operations located in Plantation, Florida. As the RSR, Mr. Pertierra is responsible for tax treaty and Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEA) covering South and Central America the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas. He is also the U.S. Correspondent to the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT). CIAT is an international public non-profit organization, created in 1967 with the aim of providing an integral service to the modernization of the tax administrations of its member countries’ and promoting the evolution, social acceptance and institutional strengthening thereof.
Mr. Pertierra has more than 30 years of field experience in a wide variety of increasingly responsible positions. He has held numerous positions with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Mr. Pertierra has been an Employment Tax Manager, Examination Manager, Quality Measurement Section Chief and Lead Instructor for Income Tax Law. He has also participated in several task forces dealing with Employment taxes and participated in a Congressional inquiry relating to taxpayer rights violations.
