Sean P. Casey is a partner and experienced trial attorney with the litigation boutique Kobre & Kim LLP. Mr. Casey focuses his practice on representing international corporations and individuals in high-profile and complex white-collar criminal defense matters, regulatory enforcement matters, and internal investigations.
In particular, he regularly represents clients in connection with criminal tax evasion and fraud investigations conducted by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Justice. Among Mr. Casey’s recent matters, he has represented and advised international financial institutions and their executives in evaluating U.S. Department of Justice exposure arising out of the enactment of FACTA as well as tax evasion and fraud allegations.
Prior to joining Kobre & Kim LLP, Mr. Casey served as the Deputy Chief of the Business and Securities Unit of the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of New York. In that role, Mr. Casey supervised all securities and tax investigations as well as trials in that District. Mr. Casey also served as Senior Counsel in the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission where he handled matters from the initial investigation stage through administrative and judicial litigation.
