Associate Professor of Law, University of Miami School of Law (Miami)
Professor Andrew B. Dawson joined the University of Miami School of Law in 2011, where he teaches contracts, bankruptcy, and commercial law. His research has focused on both domestic and cross border insolvency issues. In the field of cross-border insolvency, Professor Dawson conducted the first empirical study of this new chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code in 2008. His most recent work on cross-border insolvency, The Problem of Local Methods, explored the tensions that arise in Chapter 15 cases when U.S. bankruptcy courts’ case management and interpretative methodologies conflict with the purposive nature of the UNCITRAL Model Law.
