I recently posted a message re"Aquilla" fund. Thanks to those who responded, very useful comments and tips. I have now come across a fund being advertised on an english speaking radio in France. It refers of up to 12% based on investing in "after the event Insurance" after following it up the french phone number diverts to Lincoln England where someone who claims to be an ex banker offers to come to France to see you, to explain it and presumably sign you up.

Having checked with the UK FSA he is not a registered IFA and the product comes from "Anglo Canadian". Does anone have any information on this company and its funds?

Many thanks for contributors continuing assistance.

Belinda

Hi Belinda,
Would really like to hear what the FSA had to say about ANGLO CANADIAN, the contact in Lincoln and any other details you care to add.

Best regards, Lynne

Thank you, I have now read the article and will avoid this at all costs. Looks like Quadriga is a better risk.

Belinda,

Anglo Canadian was set up by former officers of Imperial Consolidated and offers an almost identical product to one offered by Imperial.

Imperial collapsed last year with more than $345 million of investor funds missing due to fraud.

Stories about Anglo Canadian, including material misrepresentations and lies in its marketing material, is contained in our Story Library.

Cayman Court Secrecy: A Huge Red Flag for Foreign Investors & Clients
David Marchant
As any fule kno, the biggest enemy of fraud, corruption, money laundering, and other forms of financial crime is transparency, while their best friend is secrecy. That's why the unprecedented mass sealing of cases that's taking place at the Financial Services Division of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands is repugnant to anyone with a genuine concern for financial crime.
