It is not uncommon for fraudsters, particularly those who are unsophisticated and unintelligent, to change attorneys at regular intervals or just before trial, for no apparent reason other than to cause delays.

There seems to be no practical benefit to defendants to act like this but it seems they are too stupid to realize it and it is simply in their nature to be difficult and to avoid responsibility for as long as possible.

Russell Cline, of Orion International, who is currently being held in Jail for Fraud in his alleged internet trading scams, has had his federal criminal trail postponed to September 2005, due to changing legal counsel provided by the Federal Public Defenders office. With over 70,000 pages of evidence and 34 CD's of evidence gathered by the Comodity Trade Commission and the FBI and IRS, attorneys on both sides voiced it would be a strain to even be ready for trial before Next September. The courts have seized over a million in assets and real and personal property and are currently seeing off shore investments and entities for more assets to repay the reported 90 million in investments stolen.

Michael Jared of FX Holdings, is currently on trial for kidnapping and extorsion. He is facing a minimum of 10-30 for this particular case and also facing federal & civil charges from clients he alleged frauded.

Both men were trading with each other, taking investors monies for personal gain and then collapsing thier business deals with investors.

Any news on these individuals would be great appreciated.

Cayman Court Secrecy: A Huge Red Flag for Foreign Investors & Clients
David Marchant
As any fule kno, the biggest enemy of fraud, corruption, money laundering, and other forms of financial crime is transparency, while their best friend is secrecy. That's why the unprecedented mass sealing of cases that's taking place at the Financial Services Division of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands is repugnant to anyone with a genuine concern for financial crime.
