Bloomberg BNA: Next time you post something on social media, bear in mind that it may not just be your friends and acquaintances who are looking at it. If you have not applied appropriate privacy settings, HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”) can also access it. HMRC routinely uses social media as one of many sources that it taps into when trying to track down those evading tax.
