    Regulator suspends Leadenhall Bank license

    Leadenhall Bank & Trust Company Limited has had its bank and trust license suspended by the Central Bank of the Bahamas and gone into Receivership.The Central Bank did not go into details about the reasons for its actions in a public announcement yesterday but stated the measures were intended "to protect the interests of depositors".

    SSBT’s owners lose yet another bid to regain bank license

    Suisse Security Bank and Trust Company Limited has moved a step closer to full liquidation in the Bahamas following a recent court ruling.In a decision delivered on June 29, 2004 after one-and-a-half days of hearings, the Bahamas Court of Appeal unanimously dismissed what was essentially an appeal of an appeal by SSBT.

    Suisse Security Bank & Trust fights for its license

    Bahamas-based Suisse Security Bank & Trust filed an application at the Bahamas Supreme Court on March 29, 2001 to reverse what it has called "a purported out-of-court appointed receivership". The Respondents in the lawsuit are Julian Francis, who is the Governor of the Central Bank of the Bahamas; the Attorney-General of the Bahamas and SSBT's Receiver, accountant Raymond Winder.

    Ansbacher fires its New York correspondent bank

    Ansbacher (Bahamas) Ltd. has fired its New York correspondent bank for providing confidential information about its account to the IRS without notifying the offshore bank first.And Ansbacher itself has been reprimanded by the Central Bank of the Bahamas for failing to inform the body quickly enough that the IRS was seeking information about its clients.
